A Magical Night At Tief Im Wald 2025
Getting noticed is easy. Headlines, clickbait, and loud colors are designed to grab your attention, even if only for a split second. Creating a long-lasting impression, however, is a whole different game.
Tief Im Wald (translation: Deep in the Forest) is one of those events that leaves a lasting impression. One admirable aspect of Germany’s car culture is how they create the most relaxed experiences. Car shows here aren’t about competition or showing off. It’s quite the contrary, people will drive hundreds of miles to a cool spot just to hang out and admire each other's cars.

Sadly I never had the opportunity to experience Tief Im Wald at its original spot at the shooting range in Suhl. My first visit to Tief Im Wald back in 2024 was the first event that they held at the new location at the Biathlon Stadium in Oberhof. However, it doesn't lack any of the special factors to stand out.

Tief Im Wald starts uniquely late during the day at 5:00pm when the sun starts to move lower and the day cools off. The main tribune creates an amazing bird’s eye view of the entire event, with the whole surrounding area covered in lighting that will pop up at night, creating the unique vibe.
As you go down from the main stage, you’ll be greeted by a steep descent into forests filled with all kinds of tuner cars. The elevation changes provide an amazing view of the surrounding cars.
And as the sun sets, the lighting that’s spread throughout the venue creates another layer to the experience. The lights create a vibrant atmosphere coupled with hip-hop music blasting throughout the venue. Everyone came with the right mindspace to simply enjoy car culture, and that’s the magic of Tief Im Wald.
On top of that, the cars gathered here are among the cleanest in Germany. German cars naturally dominate the scene and serve as the bread and butter that fills up the space at any automotive event in Germany.
But the range of non-German cars aren’t to be dismissed. From the Mazda RX-7 that takes center stage at the event to truly unique cars like a bagged Rolls-Royce Silver Spur, Ferrari 348 GTS and C3 Corvette, the attendance never disappoints.
Tief Im Wald is an event that stands out not by being the loudest. With a track record over 11 years, the fellas at Custom Junkys know how to create lasting memories.
